Charlotte Concrete Services builds and replaces concrete pool decks, from broom-finish surrounds to stamped patterns and cool-touch textured coatings, and repairs cracked decks and bad drainage.
A Charlotte pool deck faces July highs near 90 with heavy humidity, fast thunderstorms, yellow pine pollen each spring and the occasional January freeze. It must be graded right, sealed well and cool on bare feet.
We pour pool decks in Ballantyne, Huntersville and Matthews, and around Lake Norman & more.

A fresh surround goes on compacted base, graded away from the pool, reinforced with steel and isolated from the coping by an expansion joint. Broom finish runs $7 to $11 per square foot, so 800 square feet is $5,600 to $8,800.

Pollen, clay and saltwater crust soak into unsealed concrete. We apply a breathable, slip-resistant sealer after curing; reseal every couple of years.

Stamped concrete gives the look of flagstone or travertine for less. Stamped and decorative work runs $12 to $20 or more per square foot with a slip-resistant sealer, and can match an adjoining concrete patio.

Muddy water washing into the pool means the deck sheds the wrong way. We correct the slope, add slot or channel drains, and a concrete retaining wall upslope can keep yard runoff off.

Smooth gray concrete in July sun burns feet. Lighter colors and textured spray or knockdown finishes stay cooler and add grip when wet.

Cracks from corners, a gap at the coping and sunken panels show the base is moving. Isolated cracks are repaired for $3 to $8 per square foot; widespread settlement means a new deck, with coping and tile protected during demolition.
We measure the pool and yard, check water flow and settle finish, color and drains.
We remove old concrete, compact the subgrade, place GAB and set drains, pitched away from the pool.
We pour in sections with planned joints, set the coping expansion joint and apply the texture.
The deck cures before sealing and is back in use within a week; see how long new concrete takes to cure.
Broom finish is $7 to $11 per square foot, stamped $12 to $20 or more. Removing an old deck adds $2 to $6.
Light-colored textured finishes. Avoid dark stamped colors in full sun.
Usually no expansion joint between deck and coping, so they press against each other as temperatures swing, or settling fill.
It adds hard surface, so we plan where that water goes under Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services rules.
A sealed deck rinses clean with a hose. Unsealed concrete may need a gentle pressure wash.
Spring and fall, so the deck cures before swim season. Summer pours start early.
